Finding us
Near Manthara Temple.
Edava is the northern end of Varkala. If a driver says “Varkala cliff” you have gone too far south, the landmark to give them is Manthara Temple, and we are a moment from it.
- By train
- Edava railway station is the closest stop, on the Trivandrum to Kollam line. Auto-rickshaws wait outside.
- By air
- Trivandrum (TRV). about an hour by road. Tell us your flight and we'll arrange a car.
- Once you're here
- The beach is fifty steps from the door. North Cliff is eight minutes by scooter, and we'll point you at somewhere to rent one.
- Give your driver this
- Plus Code QM5Q+GG. It drops the pin on the gate, not the road.
- Arriving late
- Someone is up. Open 24 hours, just message ahead so we know to listen for you.

When we're around
Mornings are in the water.
First session leaves the house at 7:30 and nobody is looking at a phone until after breakfast. Message any time. It just means a WhatsApp sent at dawn gets answered around ten.
Afternoons and evenings are the fastest. If something is urgent and you're already here, walk up to the rooftop; somebody is always on it.
We haven't published a guaranteed reply time because we haven't got one to guarantee. In practice it is usually within the hour.
